Professional Experience:
Michael McGean graduated from California ’s oldest law school, the University of California , Hastings in San Francisco , California . Mr. McGean returned to Oregon to practice law and joined the public defender office for Deschutes County and Central Oregon as a trial attorney.
Mr. McGean enjoyed a successful and busy criminal trial practice for three years before joining Francis Hansen and Martin as an associate attorney in the firm’s litigation department. His current practice emphasizes business litigation, real estate and water rights’ disputes, administrative law, and land use.
A past member of the Oregon State Bar’s Civil Jury Instruction Committee as well as the Local Professional Responsibility Committee for Deschutes , Crook, Jefferson and Wheeler Counties , Mr. McGean is also a past member of the Oregon Criminal Defense Lawyers Association and the J. R. Campbell American Inns of Court.
Personal Background:
Mike McGean and his wife Lisa McGean are proud parents of two children, Olivia and Grady. Lisa works as an associate Instructor in the English Department at Central Oregon Community College .
Mike and his family eagerly returned to Oregon and moved to Bend out of love for its natural beauty. In their spare time they enjoy walking on local trails, skiing, bicycling, and traveling.
